What are the differences between the iPhone 3G and the iTouch?

i know that the itouch doesnt have the phone, text messaging, internet without wifi, camera, and microphone and speakers but what else??? because i want a iphone or itouch but i dont know which one to get. also i have at&t and im available for a upgrade at the end of the month.

If you're available for an upgrade, you may as well get the iPhone. It's got everything the iPod Touch has, but with all the phone stuff too. It makes no sense to get an iPod Touch if you can get an iPhone.

The iPhone is your best bet if you have the opportunity to use either one. The primary use of the iPod Touch is for those of us who can't use the iPhone -- either because of carrier or coverage eligibility. One possible reason to have both (or an iPod Touch and a separate cell phone of a different manufacturer) is battery life. If you use your phone and/or iPod alot, you will probably run out of battery charge on a daily basis if you don't have two devices instead of one.

The previous answers were right on the money. the ipod touch just lacks 3g and gsm support.

your question really does depend on how much you want to spend.

If your happy with your current phone and money is an issue i suggest the  ipod touch, being that its almost half the price. if convenience and convergence is your priority then the iphone is the way to go. Having said that you might want to check with at&t about that upgrade as soon-to-expire contracts cost less to upgrade than a new contract. Good luck either way

itouch is a touch screen ipod. It is a iphone without the phone. Thats it.

The iphone is a phone that comes with many different features, including some that the i touch has. The i touch though, is just a different ipod model. both are controlled the same way though, with your fingers and a on/off button...
