Question:

What are the differences in primer?

I am going to primer my whole room but the primer that I already own is for "semi-gloss" paint. I am planning on painting the room with flat paint though...does it make a difference because of the primer?

  1. I have painted for 37 years and have never heard of a primer specifically for the sheen of paint you use..e.g...semi gloss, satin, eggshell etc..there are pirmers made esclusively for stained areas..and primers to simply prime new drywall/wood etc..but not one for any certain "sheen" of paint

  2. Don't use FLAT!.  You'll never be able to wash the walls. Every mark will stay there until you repaint. Use satin or egg shell
