Can you give me examples: Their differences in geography and climate, mortality rates, family relationships and its economics.

  1. The South was agriculture with its temperate climates excellent for the growing of high-value commodities (mainly cotton).  Very little heavy industry.  Just enough railroads to satisfy agricultural transportation.

    The North was industrialized, starting with the mills that processed the South's cotton.  Banking was based in the North, most heavy industries were located there, and rail transportation was double that of the South.  Population was also greater in the North.
