But deff. the forgotten ones are mechanics -tractors ect and

    Fish and marine animals- aquaculture

  2. Agriculture itself is quiet broad term which encompasses lots of branches, viz.

    Agronomy- cultivation of plants

    horticulture (pomology, floriculture, vegetable science)

entomology- deals wid insects and pests

    plant pathology

    plant breeding & genetics

    Agriculture biochemistry

    soil science

    plant biotechnology

    agricultural extension

    Agril. economics

    nematology

    plant physiology

    agril statistics

  3. Agriculture

    Horticulture

    sericulture

    Floriculture

    Entomology

    Olericulture

    Microboilogy

    Biochemistry

    Agriculture Engg.

    Soil and Water conservation

    Post harvest and process engg.

    Farm power and machinery

    Agronomy

    Foresty

  4. Broad Question. Be easier if you simplified it but here i go.

    Agronomy :

Poultry science: deals with chickens and turkeys

    Agriculture: Ornamental plants

Horticulture: Anything doing with plants really

Soil Science: Study of the soil

Crop Science: Improving existing crops like "Roundup (TM)  Read crops"

    Swine Production: Hogs and pigs

    Beef Production: Cows raised for their meat;

Dairy Production: Raised for their milk (Goats and Cows)

well the list is long Agriculture is anything that deals with Production Plants or animals and the supporting pratices (like the machinery or development)

  5. Well the study of plants and animals falls under biology in a broad sense. Plants can further fit into the category of botany. At my college if you studied animals it was called animal science.

I've always understood agriculture to be the production of food, or feed, or fuel, or other goods by raising animals and plants in a systematic, controlled process.

Branches of agriculture I guess could be what a particular farms raises and what for.

  6. Botany studies plant growth, entomology looks at insects,

soil science figures out the best use of soils and how to maintain healthy soil, chemistry comes up with fertilizers and fungicides and herbicides, microeconomics studies the cost effectiveness of agriculture and marketing, animal husbandry is the science of genetics to improve breeds of cattle,

engineering devises better machinery, and so on.

    I hope that helps.

  7. arable farming is growing crops.

The other activity is rising stock

  8. Study of plants: Botany

    Study of Animals: Zoology

    Being more specific

Acarology:the study of ticks and mites

    Agrostology:the study of grasses

    Apiology:the study of bees

get the rest from the source

  9. animal science breaks down into tons of thing, floriculture, landscaping, forestry, aquaculture, natural resources, mechanics, plus a ton more... threre are lot more things in ag than just animals and plants
