Well let's see I can name a couple:

IDPA (international Defensive Pistol Association) this is competitive shooting.

Skeet Shooting

Trap Shooting

NRA Highpower

and my personal favorite: Plinking

Plinking is informal target shooting with what ever firearm you feel like. Right now I like to break clay pigeons that I hang on a string from about 10 yards with my Glock 19. Bowling pins are lots of fun to shoot as well.

There are many other types of competitive and non competitive shooting I've just name a few that I could think of on the spot.

There are only four types of shooting

1 - Legal

2 - illegal

3 - safe

4 - unsafe

Legal shooting includes;

Hunting

Self Defense - Unless you live in a Commie State like New York or Commiefornia

Trap

Skeet

Match

Cowboy Action

Trick

Exhibition

Target

Plinking (shooting cans)

and many others I cant think of off hand

illegal includes;

Shooting your neighbors dog for barking

Shooting the local drug dealer

Poaching - Hunting what or when it is not legal

Discharging a firearm inside the city (most cities)

Shooting in self defense in Washington DC or any Commie State
