  1. Primary care refers to GPs and other healthcare workers who don't work in a hospital,  such as nurses who see patients in their homes.

    Secondary care refers to care of patients in hospital.

    Tertiary care is more specialized care of patients in hospital for example, burns unit or cancer care.
