I'm not talking about the Lowlands and Highlands. I'm talking, like, their version of our states. Are there any? If so, could you send me a link to the website you found it on? Thanks a lot!

  1. You mean political divisions, not regions. Our regions are the Pacific, Central and Caribbean.

We have 15 departments and 2 autonomous regions (which is the majority of the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua). A department is the equivalent to a state in the U.S. (exp. California (a U.S. state) and Madriz (a Nicaraguan department). Each department is also subdivided into 153 municipios (municipalities)

The 15 departments are Boaco, Carazo, Chinandega, Chontales, Estelí, Granada, Jinotega, León, Madriz, Managua, Masaya, Matagalpa, Nueva Segovia, Rivas and Rio San Juan. The two autonomous regions are: Región Autónoma del Atlántico Norte (RAAN) and Región Autónoma del Atlántico Sur (RAAS).

  2. Your best bet is to look into:Nicaliving.com
