  1. Measurement is a word that we use to measure anything. As an electrical engineering student, I would say measurement is the ability to convert any measureable phenomenon to convert into electrical signal as the processing of the electrical signals are the most precise in the world.

    Measurement systems are of different types. You can basically divide it into two parts. Measurement : qualitative & quantitative. Other than this, in engineering, the quantitative analysis of any change in physical, chemical, spacial, electrical etc. - visible or invisible, that happens in the real world is called Measurement.


  2. I think you are asking about the measurement systems like the SI and Imperial systems.

    SI is an abbreviation for "Le Système International d'Unités", french for "The International System of Units", which used to be called the Metric System.

    SI is used in most of the world, with the US being the major holdout, still using the Imperial System.
