  1. there are six types of play.

    manipulative play - eg  colouring, drawing.

    quiet play - eg jigsaws, puzzles, reading.

    active play - eg bike riding, football.

    co-operative play - eg pretend play, board games.

    creative play  - eg painting, creating crafts.

    dramatic  play - eg role play

  3. It depends of which childhood theory you are refering to; like Piaget mentions two, Montessori mentions five, and some others will mention different ones.  But I think that the first answer is really good.
