  1. Ovo-Lacto Vegetarian: same as VEGAN , but also eats eggs and milk products. This is the most 'popular' form of Vegetarianism in many Western countries..

Lacto Vegetarian: Same as VEGAN, but also eats milk products.

Veggie -- Shortened nick-name for a VEGETARIAN; often includes VEGANs.

Strict vegetarian: originally meant vegan, now can mean vegan or vegetarian.

Vegan: excludes animal flesh (meat, poultry, fish and seafood), animal products (eggs and dairy), and usually excludes honey and the wearing and use of animal products (leather, silk, wool, lanolin, gelatin...).

The major vegan societies all disallow honey, but some "vegans" still use it. Some "vegans" also refuse to eat yeast products.

Dietary Vegan: follows a vegan diet, but doesn't necessarily try and exclude non-food uses of animals

  2. As far as I'm concerned (and most of the planet besides N. America) there is only 1 (one) type.  The type that is, and the type that isn't.

In most places in the world, vegetarian means 100%.  It means vegan.  There are no different degrees of vegetarian.  That all started with the hippie movement in N. America where there were SO many wanna-be people wanting to be part of the whole IN crowd that were all supposedly vegetarian, pot smoke'n, hemp wearing, etc. that, "Hey man, are you vegetarian, because is you aren't then..."  "Oh, yeah.  Yeah, I'm vegetarian... I eat eggs occasionally and some other stuff (bacon, port, steak, milk, cheese...), but yeah, pretty much mostly vegetarian discounting that."  "Cool man, at least you are working on it, come on in and join the party..."

  3. vegetarians eat no meat, poultry or fish. if you eat fish you're not a vegetarian! vegans eat no animal byproducts and meat eaters eat well meat! thats just how it is. it bothers me when ppl eat fish and are like "im a vegetarian". arent fish animals? vegetarians are against the killing of animals, so why would we eat fish? simple answer: WE DONT. :)

you can be a Ovo-Lacto Vegetarian or Lacto Vegetarian etc but you can't call yourself a vegetarian

  4. Theres the kind that only eat veggies and dairy stuff (things that DONT have meat, but can be from animals, like milk and cheese) and protine pills

Then there are the kind that ONLY eat veggies and protine pills
