  1. There are many! All three are members of the cat family, Felidae, but whilst the lion and tiger belong to the genus Panthera, the cheetah belongs to its own genus, Acinonyx.

The tiger is the largest of all cats, weighing in at up to 660lb, and is found exclusively in Asia. Its coat is orange with black stripes. Tigers are able to interbreed with lions, producing a hybrid called a liger if the father is a lion and the mother a tiger, or a tigon if the father is a tiger and the mother a lion.

The lion is the second largest of the cats. It is found mostly in Africa, though there is a small population of Asiatic lions in the Gir Forest of India. Lions are the only truly social cats, living in groups called prides. They are also the only cats with manes - a thick ruff of fur around the neck of the male, which serves to make him appear larger and more threatening to rivals, more attractive to females, and protects his neck during fights. Lions are a solid tawny colour, though males' manes darken as they age and cubs have faint spots for camouflage.

The cheetah is the fastest-running animal in the world, reaching speeds of over 60mph. Its whole body is designed for speed - it is slender and long-legged, with a very flexible spine. Its claws, unlike those of other cats, are only partially retractile to help grip the ground, and it has a long, thick tail to help it make turns at high speed. The background colour of its coat is tawny, with solid black spots and two distinctive black lines running from the inner corner of the eye to the corner of the mouth. The vast majority of cheetahs are found in Africa - there is a small relict population (only about 30 animals) in Iran.

  2. The most important difference between them is the color.

Lions have an uniform color, tigers have vertical lines and cheetah have spotted skin

  3. the diffrence between lion, tiger and cheetah are:Tiger male siberian an average of 10.3 ft (3.15 in length)are the biggest cats of the world.and they are power full then all cats and they are the no 1 cats of the world.the lions are at no 2 position they run fast then tiger but they are no power full then tiger.thec cheetah's are at no 3 position and they are the fastest animals of the world there speed are about 60-63mph (90-95 kph) but they are the lowest power full animal in the big cat.

  4. Lion-o is the leader of the Thundercats with a big red mane, Tigra is the stealthy and quick-witted Thundercat, and Cheetara is the fast and attractive looking Thundercat with spots.  Based on this extensive knowledge of felines, I presume the actual cats are the same.

  5. There are a lot of differences, let alone in where they live.  The Lion and Cheetah being African and the Tiger Asian.

The Lion "appears" to be the largest of the three, and has a coat free of any spots, stripes, or other markings.  The male has a mane that flares out from around the head.  They also live in prides, or communal groups.  They exist on the wide open plains of Africa.  They do NOT swim.

The Tiger is actually the biggest in weight, and can weigh in at 800 lbs.  It has black, white, and orange stripes, and hunts in the thickest of forests.  It can readily climb trees.  Tigers love water and swim and dive all the time.  They are loners and come together only to mate.

Cheetahs have small spots all over their bodies.  They are the fastest running land mammal on earth and can exceed speeds of 60 MPH, which they use to "run down" their prey.  They are the only cats that do NOT have retractable claws.  They do not climb trees and avoid water except to drink.
