  1. 29'-6" x 29'-6" per side... this is true for indoor and outdoor.

    Players on the front row are the only players that can attack the ball inside the first 10' (closest to the net).  Back row players may attack the ball, but must not touch the floor inside the 10' mark until after they have hit the ball.


  2. Not exactly 30' X 30'.... The official dimensions are 18 meters by 9 meters surrounded by a free zone of 3 meetings

  3. the dimensions of a court are 30' wide by 60' long....and the attack lines are 10' from the net on each side!!!

    For an indoor court:

    1.1 DIMENSIONS

    The playing court is a rectangle measuring 18 x 9 m (59’ x 29’6”)

    surrounded by a free zone which is a minimum of 3 m (9’10”)

    wide on all sides. The free playing space is the space above the

    playing area which is free from any obstructions. The free playing

    space shall measure a minimum of 7 m (23’) in height from

    the playing surface.

    USAV 1.1: The free zone may be a minimum of 2 m (6’6”).It is

    not required that the free zone be symmetrical.

    For an outdoor court (from 2004-2005 OFFICIAL FIVB

    BEACH VOLLEYBALL RULES)

    1.1.1 The playing court is a rectangle measuring 16 x 8 m

    (52’6” x 26’3”), surrounded by a free zone with a

    minimum of 3 m (9’10”) wide and with a space free

    from any obstruction up to a height of a minimum of

    7 m (23’) from the playing surface.

    USAV 1.1.1: The court dimensions for each team’s side

    are 8 x 8 m (29’6”) square court. The length of each

    short diagonal is subsequently 11.31 m (37’1”).

    1.1.2 For FIVB World Competitions, the playing

    court is a rectangle measuring 16 x 8 m,

    (52’ x 26’) surrounded by a free zone with

    a minimum of 5 m (16’) and a maximum of

    6 m (20’) from the end lines/side lines and

    with a space free from any obstruction

    up to a minimum height of 12.5 m (41’)

    from the playing surface.

  6. Indoor Volleyball courts are 18 x 9 metres with the attack line at 3 metres.

    Outdoor Beach Courts are 16 x 8 metres.
