  1. high blood presure

  2. In sensitive individuals, it is linked with hypertension (high blood pressure).

Because sodium helps the body retain water, high sodium levels in your body can cause unsightly 'bags' under your eyes- and nobody wants that!

  3. too much of it can give you a heart attack after a while.

  4. It makes you thirsty

  5. If your kidneys can't eliminate enough sodium, the sodium starts to accumulate in your blood. Because sodium attracts and holds water, your blood volume increases. Increased blood volume, in turn, makes your heart work harder to move more blood through your blood vessels, increasing pressure in your arteries. Certain diseases such as congestive heart failure, cirrhosis and chronic kidney disease can lead to an inability to regulate sodium.

Extra sodium in your diet increases your chance of developing high blood pressure, a condition that can lead to cardiovascular and kidney diseases.

  6. It can raise your blood pressure and make you absorb water. I guess on a diet it would be bad because it would make you gain extra water weight.

  7. If you have an inner ear disorder or neurological disorder it can make your condition worse. Also too much salt intake can cause heart problems, high blood pressure, and chest pains, as well as other problems.

Too much salt in the diet can lead to muscle cramps, dizziness, or even an electrolyte disturbance, which can cause severe, even fatal, neurological problems. People's risk for disease due to insufficient or excessive salt intake varies due to biochemical individuality.
