manager: keep track of money, paperwork, score sheets, etc.

team captain: appeal calls, speak with the ref

Ref/offical: "conduct" the game, instruct players on when to play, whether a ball hit the floor, was roofed, went out etc.

lines(wo)man: determine whether a ball was in or out

  3. Hi Sakura,

First things first there are the players: 6 per team on the court.  Depending how you play but the best configuration is to have one setter and 3 smashers on attack and ideally 2 blocking and 4 defender when defending.

The captain of the team is the one keeping the nicest harmony within the team while playing and is supposed to implement the strategy dictated by the coach.

Then, the coach who is supposed to provide the best game strategy for the game analyse each an every point, the different formations.  To do all this he or she is assisted with an assistant who is closer to the players and usually plays a motivational role for the team.

The Manager is the one managing the team, organising the tournaments, trips and all the administration of it.

I hope this will answer your question if not, don't hesitate to contact me.
