  1. Lets not forget TIPS.  This means To Insure Prompt Service.

  2. take orders, pick up food from kitchen, bring it to the table, ask how the food is, ask if they want dessert, give them their check, take payment, bring back receipt, give them a smile

  3. The duties of a waiter/waitress are to be courteous and polite, to know the menu and the food descriptions, to get drinks, take the customers order, put the order into the kitchen, bring the food to the customers, ask if everything is okay, get customers refills on drinks (if needed or if they ask for a refill) to bring the customers their bill, to cash the customer out, to bring the customer the receipt, and to say have a great day/night, and to clean the table off.

In most restaurants the waiter/waitress does most of the cleaning. One downside to being a waiter/waitress, is that if anything goes wrong with the food or anything else, the waiter/waitress takes the fall for it (or gets blamed for it.)

  4. Your server should greet you pleasantly, be sure to get drinks and refills, carry on general short conversation, take your order & read it back to assure accuracy.  Make sure that as you finish with a plate it removed from your table (pre bussing), but remember you are not the only table they have so refills and pre bussing may take a few extra minutes during peak hours.  Also to be sure your meal is delivered in a timely manner.  Now remember, they are serving your food not cooking it.   If someone else delivers the food and it is not right, probably not the servers fault, let them know and they should get it corrected without any problems or hassles.  Generally, they should ensuring a great dining experience.

  5. duties are to make people feel very welcome then to take order make sure correct food is served to customer also to make sure food  is to there satisfaction  and make it aware if not happy they are more than welcome to tell us there not happy with the meal and we will refund them there money
