  1. The first referee, R1, is the referee on the stand.  R1 is in total control of the match and has the authority to overrule any of the other officials.  The R1 watches the serving team for overlaps and foot faults.  The R1 is primarily responsible for ball handling calls.  The R1 can also call anything else.

The second referee, R2, is on the floor near the score table.  Their primary responsibility is between the attack lines.  (10 foot or 3 meter lines)  The R2 watches the net.  R2 moves to the blocker side to watch the net from the blocker side.  The R2 deals with everything on the R2 side of the court.  Time outs, substitutions, line up checks, the benches and the score table are all under the responsibility of the R2.

The line judges, LJ, are in the corners of the court.  They are responsible for calling the ball in our out.  They also call touches of the players on the court.  They watch to see if the ball also touches any object and goes inside the antenna.

The scorekeeper, S, keeps the official score sheet.  They keep track of the substitutions and line ups as well as the score.

The assistant scorekeeper, AS, keeps track of the Libero.  They record all of the Libero entries and exits as well as the substitution.

The visual scorekeeper, VS, does the visual scoreboard.  It could be a flip chart or the electronic variety.
