Well on last friday the 22nd of August. I received my IUI....since then my nipples have been sore off and on. also I have been receiving slight cramps in my lower left side...all day long since the insemination. what does that mean? I took clomid and received an HSG shot all before my insemination. so does this improve my chances??? I am healthy and in shape. I just really want this to work on the first try, because me and my fiance' have been trying for so long and I'm trying to have a positive outlook on things. Also he does have a low sperm count. she injected 600,000 good sperm that he did have. So I'm hoping one made it! i really would like to know my chances and anyone who has experienced this that would like to share with me their story just so help me keep a postive outlook.

  1. chances are good.

its too soon for symptoms to start popping up though.  good luck

  2. While I don't want to give you a negative outlook on this, I have gone through IUI 3 times and they didn't take.  All 3 times I was on Clomid and had and HSG shot.  (The Clomid helps make you more fertile, usually producing multiple eggs, and the HSG shot makes makes you ovulate so that way they know the best time to inseminate.) My husband also has pretty low sperm count.  We did 2 inseminations and got about 1.5-2 million sperm between the 2 times . (All three times were the same, except each time we increased the dosage of Clomid.) My doctor told us we had about a 10% chance that it would take. The cramping and soreness you are having are probably from the Clomid- it's too early for prego symptoms.  Unfortunately for us, none of our IUIs took, but that doesn't mean that it won't for you!  I wish you the best of luck and hope that everything works out for you.  I am on my 2ww from my 2nd IVF cycle, and am praying for the best.  I'll keep you in my prayers too!

  3. The effects that you're experiencing are probably from the HCG shot. Wait at least two weeks after you've had the shot before you start testing- if you test too early you might get a false positive as the shot works it's way out of your system.

    Good luck.
