What are the effects of cell phone communication with modern technology?

What have the changes been in our society since cell phones came out and what are the future changes?

Communication accessibility and speed brought about by the efficacy of the cell phone has tended to speed up communication and eliminate some of the lag time between decisions and actions.

However, quicker decisions don't necessarily make better decisions.  Sometimes, we need that lag time and/or communication gaps to think through our actions and make better decisions.
