I love the taste of coffee, but try to drink it only occasionally because of some unwanted side-effects I have heard of. What exactly are the side-effects, short-term and long-term?

  1. "In one animal study, the caffeine in one cup of coffee a day appeared to block the effects of high cholesterol that are linked to Alzheimer's disease." Journal of Neuroinflammation, April

Enjoy it in moderation, I say!

  2. Depending on which school of extremists you listen to it can help prevent memory loss, reduce the risks of certain cancers, lower cholesterol, stain your teeth, stunt your growth(hilarious old wives tale) of make you jittery.

In some people (myself included) drinking it too close the bed time prevents sleep.

So, with the pro's being heavily into health and the cons being primarily cosmetic...make a choice.

  3. Stains teeth, stunts growth, and can raise your blood pressure.
