  1. each microbe has its optimum ph for the growth  depending on required

optimum ph microbes are classified as neutrophiles acidophiles and alkalophile. As we go away from the optimum ph there will be gradual  decrease in the growth. fungi can tolerate acidic ph . this is generally because inactivation of extracellular enzymes.

  2. Many microbes have optimum growth rate at specific pH.

The ones that prefer the  extreme acidic conditions are called acidophilic and there are some that prefer  extreme alkaline conditions.

Depending on their preference they could thrive, die or barely survive.
