  1. That's a heck of a question, and one that would take too much space to really go into great detail in, but I will give my two cents worth:

Compared to children who do not live in poverty and depending on the level of poverty, the children would be at greater risk of malnutrition, poor educational attainment, violence, abuse, and criminal activity. This is not to suggest causation, but correlation.

  2. Poverty prevents children from going to schools for primary education. And lack of education prevents them from excelling in life. At this juncture of time, it is everyone's responsibility to contribute towards ending poverty. I came across a community http://www.orkut.co.in/Community.aspx?cm... which is about the United Nations' campaign to End Poverty by 2015. The campaign revolves around 8 major goals few of which are Universal Primary Education, Gender Equity, Child Health etc.

  3. IT depends who they live with and where they live.

IF their familys suffering from poverty then the child would suffer as they can not afaud good quality clothiing,  pay for education or feed the kid well.. Children sometimes have to work as their family is desperate.  The pay is small and the conditions they work in saldy affect their health
