What are the effects on people and the environment during bushfires?

  1. in people, it could devastate the livestocks of others, particularly farmers while its impact on the environment is worse. it causes too much pollution and it could destroy habitats of numerous species and burn rich forests.


  2. Government and forest companies work very hard making certain forest fires are quickly put out. This all seems okay with respect to the production and profits made from wood and as other answers portray, keeping down air pollution.

    However, the real facts are that Mother Nature uses fire to rejuvenate the forests and keep them healthy.  That had been going on thousands of years before we got here.

    The reason why forest fires are so fierce these days is that the underbrush has built up to a tremendous volume thereby fueling forest fires even moreso.  Mother Nature's method keeps the underbrush from getting too thick.  By the way, I'm talking about Canadian forests, because that is where I live.
