  1. They were one of two of the first civilizations on Earth (so far as we know), the other being Sumeria.  They probably invented paper (papyrus), irrigation, a form of phonetic writing, civil service structure.  It is not exactly certain that the Egyptians "invented" pyramids.  The Great Pyramid at Giza contains no evidence that it was built by Khufu, even though he took credit for it.

  2. they were a world civilization, like america is today

  3. Alot of great herbal remedies and health facts came from this time. The Ancient Egyptians helped to shape the world as did the Romans. They brought a new way to burial and preparing the dead, before this time people were merely thrown into hollow graves and forgotten. The Ancient Egyptians actually worshipped their dead and kept them sacred, a thing continued today. Also their irrigation systems helped evolve one later on in history, without them we wouldn't have alot or the systems we have today such as plumming.

    Hope I helped:)

  4. Making beer...honestly!

    Lets see...they invented heiroglyphics.

They invented the shadoof, an instrument like a crane for lifting water from the Nile.

They made the first paper. It was papyrus, made using the papyri reed plant found along the Nile.

They invented the calendar. It was an accurate calendar using astronomy, the star Sirius, and it was 365 days long.

They were the first people of antiquity to believe in life after death. They were the first to build in stone and to fashion the arch in stone and brick.

  5. It will depend on who you ask :P.

Personally I think their obsession with the dead is the most interesting.
