What are the essential items a guitar hobbyist should own?

I am learning more and more about guitar as I am teaching myself, but what items are essential for me to own as a developing guitar hobbyist?

it depends on wheather you're playing accoustic or electric guitar.

If you're playing accoustic, you deffinately need:

a case

a tuner

extra strings

picks (thickness is preference)

a capo

a string winder

if you play electric, you will also need:

an amp

a chord

a strap

other things that are nice to have:

a slide

fingerpicks

a footswitch (for an amp)

expression pedals (for an amp)

A hard pick. (Lights and mediums just don't do it)

A tuner (H&M MUSIC sells very good ones)

Finger picks (maybe when you get advanced, they are the picks that go around your thumb)

A case (for your guitar, weather can really un-tune your guitar)
