How much related are the average persians to:

1) Tajiks, Azeris

2)Turks

3) Arabs

4) Indians/pakistanis

5) Europeans

Well I know there are mixed opinions on these...I am just trying to strengthen my own opinions, so I would appreciate it if you bring forth sources or evidence...

Thank you very much in advance...

  1. I don't know precise ethnic affiliations for some of thse, but you should realize that modern Iranians and ancient Persians do not belong to the same ethnic group.

  2. My understanding is that Europeans have an Iranian ancestory (a race called Illyrians emigrated from Iran towards Europe thousands of years ago) and Iranians themselves have an Indian ancestory (Hinduism is a religion so old that there is no evidence of any other civilisation existing at a time when Hinduism was flourishing)

  3. basically persians ARE iranians.  present day Iran used to be called Persia.  A similar situation would be if "Germany" changed its name to "Manny".  Although the country has a new name, the people are still the same, and they still speak the same language as before.  the only thing that's different is the country's name and leadership....
