Oh, homework has got to be one of the more pointless inventions of public educators. I understand the need to practice things, but some teachers and schools just send home pointless busy work that isn't even relevent to the lesson or that can be done in class instead. But this sounds like fun. Let's see...

-My dog ate it

-My cat urinated on it

-My 12 foot python got hold of it and I value my life more than I value your lesson plan.

-It blew out the bus window

-It rained on the way home

-A bully stole it

-Our house was robbed and I guess someone thought the assignment was worth something

-My sister colored on it

-My uncle rolled tabacco in it

-We ran out of firewood and it was just so cold!

-I turned it in already. Really, and you tell US to be more responsible...

-What homework?

-It's in my other backpack. The one that looks just like this one...only it's at home.

-There was a bad storm and it blew out a window

-My locker got stuck when I went to take it home.

-It was in my pants pocket and mom did laundry

-I thought that was due NEXT friday

-I procrastinated for so long... I was going to do it, but I guess it felt neglected and ran away from home.

-Wow, that paper airplane flew farther than I thought it would. It WAS french homework...right? Good!

-Oh, I wanted to be the first to turn it in so I mailed it to you. Darn postal service!

-Well you see, all that science got me wondering what matter looks like when it changes from solid to gas... Oh, I did learn something! Never play with matches.

-That was for THIS class?

-Yesterday was a religious holiday and mom wouldn't let me do it. What holiday was it? Laziprocrastinatore eve.

-My parents joined a cult. I'd tell you more, but it's forbidden.

-The assignment offends my people. (Teacher: Who are your peop-) WHY DO YOU HATE US?!? *cry*

- I put it under my bed and I guess the monster needed it more than I do.

Maybe because children forget that they have homework and they are tired doing their homework. Sometimes, children after their school they are playing and have no time for their homework. Or maybe they don't know the answer and they don't have companion to their homework.
