  1. I don't think that you'll be able to - it has to be 20/20 uncorrected.

  2. Will has it correct.

  3. The vision requirements at entry is usually 20/20 without glasses. What are you planning and where it depends on that.

  4. For both rotary and fixed-wing:

Navy: 20/40 uncorrected, must be correctable to 20/20

Air Force: 20/70 uncorrected, must be correctable to 20/20

    Marines: same as navy

Army Helicopter Pilots: I believe its 20/100 maybe more, correctable to 20/20. I'm pretty sure that you can wear glasses.

NFO(Naval Flight Officer-the guy who sits in the back): 20/200 uncorrected, 20/20 corrected

*Note: your vision can deteriorate past these levels, but you'll need laser-eye surgery to continue to fly. Unlike other medical conditions, wavers are not granted for eyesight.

*Can't be colorblind or have problems with depth perception.

*It is possible to get laser-eye sugery and be able to fly if the military does it for your. All-laser LASIK or PRK is performed

  5. At the present time, the USMC and the USN require 20/20 vision (uncorrected) in order to be considered for flight training as a pilot.  I do not know about the USAF or USCG, but I assume that their requirements are the same.  However, there are flying careers that do not require 20/20 uncorrected vision.  For example, RIO (Radar Intercept Officer) also known as 'the guy in back" may qualify with 20/40 vision correctable to 20/20.  Further, USN/USMC aircrewmen such as radar operators, sonar operators, flight engineers and the like may qualify with 20/40 vision correctable to 20/20.  In addition, under certain circumstances, LASIX surgery is now a viable option for pilots to obtain or retain 20/20 vision and be qualified for service as an aviator. I hope this helps and good luck with your endeavor.  Semper Fidelis.
