What are the factors that determine the teacher's choice of method?

The first factor should be the learning objective. If you want someone to be able to do brain surgery, a lecture is probably not going to be your best teaching method.

The second factor should the learners. Life is simpler if, at least part of the time, you teach in ways a student learns best.

In practice, teachers often choose a method because

--it's familiar

--it's easy

--it doesn't require any additional resources.

--students like it.

--they already have the lesson plans in the file

learning should be student-centered. therefore, teacher should first have a general idea of his class. some are more visual, others kinesthetic, others auditory...however, teacher-personality is a great factor: never too tight, never too open...

its the job of the teacher to make things clear and learning fun. When you have fun learning it gets much easier and you don't struggle as much.Some factors I suppose is the age, level of  students understanding and of course, the way they had been taught!
