The ones that have a sort of tear drop piece of wire that kind of hooks onto a button-like stud on the clothing...sorry if that's a bit vague. And what are those things called that are a piece of metal in the shape of a capital D (2 of them) that you put a piece of material through and loop it back through?

  1. A loop and button would be a "FROG"... some are ornate (Chinese or Mandarin Frogs), and others are a simple loop and button or toggle : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frog_%28fas...

The D-Rings are usually for belts: http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/catalo...

  2. The first one sounds like it's just a loop with a button. The second are called D-rings.
