  1. A new report from the U.S. Census Bureau says two Dallas suburbs, McKinney and Denton, ranked third and 10th, respectively, on the bureau's list of fastest growing cities, while the city of Fort Worth ranked fourth behind Houston for experiencing the largest numeric population increase during the period documented between July 1, 2006, and July 1, 2007.

  2. Actually, new construction developments aren't appreciating as much in Dallas as well as other established areas. Plano, McKinney and Frisco have tons of areas with "Mcmansions" that homeowners are having tons of trouble selling. They may be fast growing, but I don't find them appealing. Now, one of the best areas in Dallas for APPRECIATION however, is Oak Cliff. It doesn't have much new construction but has areas of historical districts of 1920's and 30's tudor and craftsman style houses. Oak Cliff is only minutes from downtown too. It's been a well-kept secret for many years but is becoming super hot right now.
