    perform poorly in terms of infrastructure, returns from

    agriculture and almost all human development. A large part of this has to do with the lack of irrigation investments in tribal districts. For instance,while for the country as a whole,more than a third of the net sown area is irrigated, less than 15 percent

  3. The Indian farmers will send you good answers but I think what you may find is that they can best benefit by having their government support them better. They have done great things on their own having been forced to survive with limited assistance, imagine what they can do with the help they deserve. Governments around the world would do well to be on the side of the farmer, those that feed the people, and quit relying on foods threw imports.
