  1. OKAY! I did this years ago.

i now am in highschool and run the 400 m now. what i do is run 6 days a week. watch what you eat. buy spikes also.

    WEEKLY SUGGESTED SCHEDULE:

-Run at least 5-6 days a week.

-Find somewhere where you can run at different paces. (this is called intervals. its like you run as fast as you can, slow down, run fast again, slow down, etc.)

-Do high knees. (run fastly, but you dont really go anywhere. pretend that your knee is going to hit your chin...bring your knee up high.)

-Parachute Training. (you can buy a parachute to attatch to you. basically what it does is adds 10, 15, or 25 pounds to you when you are running. this works your legs and allows you to run REALLY fast. they cost about $50.00 at sporting goods stores.)

-Run a mile. (at least a mile everyday. try to reach a mile about a few times a week.)

hope this helps, if you need anything else feel free to email me. i love to run also, im really into it!

  2. First step would be to wait about 3 years before starting to train.  In between time, if you just want to run, do it.  A 12 year old body is not ready for the rigorous training it will take to be an out of the ordinary sprinter.

  3. For a 12 year old running everyday is stupid and will only cause problems plus if you over train like that it makes you slower. Go to your nearest athletics club they'll be able to train you correctly !

  4. Well first step would probably be to practice sprinting every day but try not to ware yourself out. I'm a thirteen year old who was on track. you definenitley need to eat right and drink lots of water.

  5. i am a good 100m and 200m runner. i am ranked in tha top 10 in my state and T.J's schedule will help u out alot.... follow his schedule and i gurantee you will be faster.

  6. You should warm up by jogging two laps, then stretch to loosen up. After that you should do some plyometrics such as butt kicks, accelerations, A Skips, etc... After that, you should sprint 2x 55m, 2x100m, 2x200m, and probably 2x400m just to see how comfortable you feel with the distances. Also, you will need to work on your form. You have to pump your arms when you run. Pump them from your pockets to ears. You should do this as part of your plyometrics since it is essential for every sprinter.
