  1. What do you mean? The Renaissance art movement? Or Music? Or the overall cultural movement? I'll assume the overall cultural movement. I know the specifics on the affects on music, better, but let's see what I can remember about the renaissance in general.

    1) The art of the time generally used classical sources (classical as in ancient Greek, for example, not as in the Classical movement)

    2) Educational reform took place

    3) Intellect began to take precedence, thus leading into the Modern era.

    4) Social and political upheaval were prevalent (thus the educational reforms and new ways of thinking based on logic could take place)

    5) It was a response to the classical era, although this isn't exaclty a feature, I suppose...

    So all in all the sciences, education, art and culture all become more prominent and important, giving birth to such artists as da Vinici and Michealangelo, etc.
