What are the formalities to import a boat into India?

Question

A friend of mine works in Saudi Arabia and is looking to import a second hand boat/tug from Jeddah to India. Although this is an industrial boat he wants to bring it down to India and convert it into a leisure yacht kind of boat . What I'd like to know is:

- What are the procedures for such an import?

- How much does it cost (duty, transportation, etc) ?

- What are the legal/official/customs requirements?

Would be glad if someone could even pass on references I could get in touch with in India.
