What are the former Soviet nations biggest environmetally polluting contributions?

Nations can include the Eastern Bloc; Russia, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Kazakhstan etc... we can skip Chernobyl for now thanks.

What are these countries infamous for when it comes to devestating environmental pollution in recent years.

  1. Bulgaria was never one of the Soviet republics, read some history before asking stupid questions.


  2. because the soviet union has broken up they don't get listed as major producers of greenhouse gases.

    but if you add up all the former soviet union countries they would be third on greenhouse gas producers.

  6. Neither Romania or Bulgaria were ever a part of the Soviet Union. And about how recent you are talking about ??!!? In the past 10 years Bulgaria and Romania have leveled their environmental politics with the ones in EU because of their wish to join, witch happened on January 1 2007.
