    With all the Best.

  2. The above is correct, but not the usual use of a PR firm.  In marketing terms, a PR firm will get the buzz out about your business by getting newspapers, magazines, TV news... to do stories on your business.  Have you ever seen an article in the paper with the headline "Jane Doe Promoted To VP Sales At Acne Corp".  We all know that's not really news, but putting that article in the paper makes the firm look more important and gets their name out there.

PR will also promote your business by publishing articles about your industry that are written by your employees.  That way when people read articles about your industry, they may notice that all the "industry experts" work at your company.  That can bring you business.

Celebrities hire PR firms to tell them what to say and to give news to the press.   For example, when a couple gets divorced, you always see a press release that says "the couple is ending their relationship after xx years, but will remain close friends".  That's the PR company talking, usually not the couple.

Also, PR firms create parties (usually with an excuse like "grand opening", "CD Release" or "Taste Test".  They get a buzz out by getting newspapers to write articles about the parties, then they come in groups or send invititions to celebrities to make the party big.  There's more to it, but that's pretty much the gist.  PR work is fun, but I chose marketing work instead because it requires less weekend/holiday work.

  3. From a business stand point, it is those who relate to the public. They address concerns of the public as well as expectations to gain support from either a consumer group or a support group of the public that allows continuation of business to occur. Nuclear plants need good PR (public relations) to get approval for building a power plant. They may -as part of PR- offer discounts for those that live within 5 miles of the plant. Or, a lot of customers complain about the quality of coffee they are getting and that it is below expectations. The PR committee of that company will do polls and QA (quality assurance) to see where the downfall occurred and how to rectify it. Lastly, when a finger is found in food (this has happened a few times in the last year) PR representatives from that company will right wrongs with monetary compensation or discounts for continued purchasing. All of these are for the benefit of the company appealing to the masses.

  4. To show the client in a good light at all times
