What are the functions of a yacht, canoe, and a oil tanker?

I must disagree with the assumption that a 'yacht' is a pleasure craft. The first problem is in the assumed definition of 'yacht' as a pleasure craft. I live aboard a sailboat that some might consider a yacht. It is my home. It also happens to be a sailing vessel. Many 'yachts' are operated as business ventures for charters or cargo transport in outlying island areas. Canoes are pleasure craft as well ... and in some places are for commercial transport... The oil tanker is definitely task-specific .. deliver oil from one place to another. The other 2 can vary according to the use that they are put to....Is that erudite enough for you ??

The Yacht is for leisure purposes only.

The Tanker is for transportation of heavy solid/liquid goods over vast quantities of water.

The Canoe is for recreational (and I guess transportation) purposes only (unless youre living in the Amazon then its like your lifeline :))

To transport large groups of people, to transport a few people, to transport oil and a crew, respectively.
