  1. At its most basic level: to interpret the laws created by the legislative branch and enforced by the executive branch.

    BTW its spelled "judicial."


  2. The judicial branch hears cases to make sure that the constitution is being upheld. It is the highest court in the land. It is also known as the Supreme Court.

    We have three powers of government that are "checks and balances" and the judicial branch is one of the three.

    Basically they make sure that Congress and the President aren't passing unconstitutional laws. They also make sure that lower courts aren't breaking the constitution.
