  1. passing- bumping to the settter.

spiking/attacking- after the setter sets you spike it over the net

serving- to win games you need to have a good serve

setting- where you push the ball up with your fingertips so a teammate can spike the ball over the net.

to do these things you need ball control.

you need teamwork to win games and need to be quick so you can go after the ball and hit it successfully

  2. bump - ge the ball up in the air so the setter can get under it and put it back up

set- sets the ball up high to one of the spikers to get it over the net

spike- hits the ball in the air and slams it on the other court

dig - get on the ground to pass up the ball to the stter from a spike.

    those are the most common..

  3. i'm in a hurry and im just gunna leave you a site:

  4. Teamwork: The ability to coordinate actions with one's team to accomplish a team goal.

Agility: Being able to move quickly and with coordination.

Ball control: Passing, setting, spiking. These are essential!

  5. I am a college volleyball player.  My coach always says that there are 5 components to a great volleyball player.  1 is serving.  either a float or jump spin.  2 is digging on defense.  3 is passing. 4 is blocking.  5 is hitting.  these are the skills need to play volleyball.  Hope this helped.

  6. 1. receiving the serve, usually with a dig (also called a bump)

    2. setting the ball up for someone to spike it, usually with a 'set' technique - which can also be used for passing or placing the ball exactly to somewhere.

    3. spike - where you hammer home a set to the ground.

    4. other - when you can't use any of the above techniques, due to the ball being in the wrong position, or you are - you can use anything else. Players can be 'creative' and do some weird kind of shot or passes, etc - you will find this happens in social, non-competitive games a lot. Oh, there is nothing wrong with using your other arm instead - when you are in the wrong position, or the ball is in the wrong position - why not use your other arm? as in spiking...

    5. Using the foot - this is now legal (except for receiving the serve) - this is used instead of a dive. Easier to do than a dive.

    6. Serves can be underarm (easiest for beginners), spike or windmill.

You should be able to find detailed instructions for all of the above at any good volleyball site.

  7. Passing-getting the ball to the setter by using the forearms.

Setting-receiving the ball from the pass, and getting it to the hitter by using the hands

Hitting-receiving the ball from the setting, and using the dominant hand, attacking it to the other side of the court, trying to score a point.

If that wasn't what you wanted, e-mail me, I got a ton of knowledge, and I'd be more than happy to share it!! (you could also IM me on AIM)
