  1. Well, if your looking at something that is definetely not scary or fast, the train is the right thing for you.  It actually can be fun because the second half of the trip (at least there used to...I haven't been there in a few years, so I don't know if it is still there), they have skeleton scenes that can be fun (except when they are shooting air guns off...it gets a little loud).  The train can be very relaxing, especially when your feet hurt from walking all over the park.

Something a little more thrilling that I enjoy is Thunder Canyon.  It is the perfect ride when it is scorching outside because you are 95% guaranteed to get soaked....and I mean drenched.  It's a quick cool down that is usually needed by mid-afternoon.

Something else I enjoy that is a coaster is Iron Dragon.  You sit in a hanging train that has shoulder harnesses.  This roller coaster has a little thrill in it, but not much.  This was the first roller coaster that I rode at Cedar Point about 13 years ago.  Another roller coaster that is great (if you don't want a scary or fast one) is Disaster Transport.  It is an indoor roller coaster that is completely dark.  It has twists and turns that seem bigger than what they are because you can't actually see them very well.  PLUS, the line is indoors as well and once you get past the first room that you wait in line, you can actually feel the air conditioning!

For another ride that is thrilling, but not a roller coaster is Ocean Motion.  If you are prone to motion sickness, you probably don't want to ride this.  It's a ride where you feel the funny feeling in your stomach with each time it swings.  I love when my bottom sorta lifts off the seat...makes the ride even better!

If you want a fun roller coaster, I love the Raptor.  Since I'm afraid of heights, all of the bigger ones are out.  It's a steal roller coaster that goes upside down and is very smooth.  It has shoulder harnesses, so if you get scared, you can grip the handles until your knuckles turn white.  This was my first upside-down roller coaster and I make sure I ride it each time I visit Cedar Point.

It sounds like you plan on going to Cedar Point, so I hope you have fun!

  2. if this is your first visit to ceder point (SANDUSKY OHIO) and if you don't have a weak heart (seriously) then the ride you should get on (if it's still there) THE CORKSCREW)  you climb into the car then they pull a bar over your head and across your shoulders you hang on to the bar and when all the cars are full they start the coaster first you'll climb up a 300' (feet) embankment by a long chain hooked under the first car till it reaches the top then the chain will push the first car over the top (if you are in the first car, going up it looks like you'll sight of everything but when the car reaches the top and starts to go over you'll see what it looks like a very very steep incline and once you go over the car will pick up speed and it'll look like it's gonna crash into the ground but fear not for the car will pull up and take it Thur 3 loops and around a bend and back to the starting point) the 3 loops is the "CORKSCREW" but if that's not your cup of tea and you don't want to get on look at from the ground and see what the screaming is all about.

There are other coasters there that won't scare the bejesus out of you then even have a water coaster (hope that one is still there) the reason why i say that is that the last time I was there was back in '73 and the corkscrew was the first coaster i got on and I was in the first car along with my friend and it was awesome.

  3. The lift hill on the Corkscrew is only 85 feet high, NOT 300. There are 4 coasters that break the 200 foot barrier at CP and Corkscrew is certainly not one of them.

You might like Iron Dragon or even Skyhawk, Maxair, or the red seats on Power Tower. I am a big fan of the scary, fast rides, so that is about the best I can do to help you out.

  4. Cedar Point is know for big, scary roller coasters! that is what they do.

they have a nice selection of midway rides, Matterhorn, Scrambler, Octopus, Dodgem and others. but they have not put any money into them in years. they spend it all on the fast stuff.

Cedar Downs, and the Antique cars are unique to the Point and worth the time.

stay away from Magnum, Demon Drop, Top Fuel, Max Air, Millennium and Mean Streak. them buggers are scary to look at.

and the first person was way off, the Corkscrew is no way 300 feet, try 1/5 of that.
