The par 72 Doha club is a long established venue on Tour now and an impressive field lines up for this year’s Qatar Masters. Scoring will be largely determined by the weather and course set up. Last year, with thick rough and some breeze to trouble the players, scoring was generally quite high aside from the winner Robert Karlsson who shot 15 under par.

Just over a year ago now Gallacher’s career was heading south blighted as it was by a succession of injuries and loss of form. All that has since changed and his game came around last year most notably in the summer when he contended strongly on a number of occasions, without actually winning. His Doha form is relatively good reading; T4th in 02, T8th in 04 and T16th in 09 and with some good recent form last week in Bahrain, where he finished tied fourth, he is certainly a player to have onside this week.
