  1. The biggest disadvantage is the potential for flooding.  You never know what weather conditions will bring a sudden rise in water.

    Of course the nice thing is a beautiful setting in which to live.


  2. I wish you could see all the property damage here in Iowa from the floods. After this, I can't imagine insurance companies wanting to even insure some areas. Many are waiting for the cities to by them out, which may not happen. It is heartwrenching to see the loss. If you can well afford it, go ahead if it's your dream home.Some things can always be replaced.

  3. Advantages:

    Nice view

    Easy access to swimming

    Fishing if theres any in it

    Free water

    Disadvantages:

    Risk of flooding

    Washouts due to erosion <<<Depends on location of house

    Depending on the area, snakes and other unwelcome critters.

    Thats just a few things that I can think of will do an edit if I think of more
