What are the good reasons to recycle and what happens if we dont recycle?

Its a warm and fuzzy feeling to recycle

But don't fret if you don't . Landfills will be harvested like gold mines in the future. Think of landfills as under ground warehouses. Storing future resources for when technology makes it worth while.......and it will!!

Less landfill off gases and polluted water run off

Less energy wasted to mine and/or produce virgin materials

Less raw materials used

If we do not recycle... I can't say anything good would come if it.

There is a lot of packaging that is used to bring goods to your house. These materials are refined products that serve a very short life span. While they go into the land fills they produce waste in the sense that lots of energy and perhaps chemicals were needed to produce the material, and most of the time they take quite some time to degraded since there are usually preservatives or other processes for them to go bad . Recycling usually reduces the amount that goes to the landfill and turns it into something that can be used with minimal processing.

There is a strong mis belief though that if you recycle your A4 paper , it will become A4 paper , your milk bottles > more milk bottles , this is untrue. The packaging still uses virgin materials as these are the only ones deemed suitable for creating the packaging. your recycled stuff gets made into other products , that may or may not have been needed in the first place. i.e milk cartons made into fleece clothing, now will there be surplus of fleece's   that will need dumping ?  

I am all for recycling but the industry needs to be made to do more , not us.  Ban plastic bags altogether, tax packaging on all products and even higher tax on imported packaging.  This will make them rethink how they package our goods.

Recycling should become mandatory due to humans unrequited desire for shiney baubles. Humans insatiable need for toys, useless gadgets and minor conveniences is rapidly using up the planets resources. People are fouling their own habitat to the extent that it will become unlivable for humans and other species. recycling is very good for the environment

it reuses the things that are already made, thus reducing the need to make new packaging etc that uses oil and electricity that pollute the air,

it reduces space in landfills

& it is cheaper (to buy recycled things)

There are inconvenients if we dont recycle. First , we recycle to have a clean around. If we don't recycle, all the streets are going to be dirthy. That is why we don't have to throw our wastes in the street. And you know that there are a lot of animals that are Threatening because of us and our community. We have to help the Earth !! ♥
