  1. It is uncommon Brazilians carry guns. I mean usually only policemen can carry guns in a legal way, but I know that is a common stuff in the U.S.

You will need a Brazilian Gun License, and that is not an easily thing to get it. Besides you are foreigner, so it will be much harder.

There are many foreigners exploring our Amazon, taking our riches out to their countries. The Brazilian Government is trying to protect our Amazon, and a foreigner who wants to bring a gun on Amazon Expedition does not sounds a good thing. (Please, do not get me wrong. I am just trying to explain to you what it happens here. I am not offending you, even because I do not know you for saying bad things about you). But you can carry a knife to protect yourself on your expedition.

Anyway, I think that is better you talk to the Brazilian Federal Police (Polícia Federal do Brasil), for making sure you will not be in any trouble with Brazilian Laws.

The link is: http://www.dpf.gov.br/ (but it is in Portuguese).

You can also try to ask it to the Brazilian Consulate in your country.

    Good Trip!
