What are the harmful components of the water that leaks out from trash?

this is for my science project-i'm going to see the effects of trash water seeping into groundwater, then eventually into lakes and ponds and such, and the effect of it on marine life.

i'll probably use daphnia. also, please tell me some challenging high school projects. my science teacher is so mean and strict. he takes off 2 points on a 5 point assignment if you use messy handwriting!!!!!!!!! and he threatened me too! he said he'll personally see i'm kicked out of g/t science if i don't get a science project! please please help.

  1. I worked at the landfill myself, and the trash seepage is called LEACHATE, it's nasty black stuff that contains everything that the garbage had in it, from metals, to bacteria.  Try going to the landfill, seeing if you can bottle some leachate, and treating it very carefully, test it on your daphnia..

    And write neat, or type it.
