What are the health benefits, if any, of wasabi?

Northern... : U.S. researchers found that eating wasabi appeared to increase congestion in a small group of healthy volunteers, despite the fact that participants said they thought that the spice had cleared their nasal passages.

"Actually, wasabi is a congestant," study author Dr. David S. Cameron stated. "It makes the space of your nasal passages smaller, but it makes you feel more open."

  1. well, you could probably research this on the internet... but off the top of my head, I'd say because it is spicy, it IS healthy.  They say you should eat spicy foods if you are trying to lose weight, because it speeds up your metabolism.

    As I have always told my friends, as they are about to try their first piece of sushi with me to which I always add a bit of wasabi, after warning them it could be sharp and biting. "You'll never have a stuffy nose again! Are there any actual health benifits to it? I am not sure, but as an astmatic, I find I breathe a little easier after eating it and drinking green tea. Cheers

  3. It clears your Sinus out So it helps you breath if you eat enough
