I'm a flight attendant studyng to become a pilot, and since I'm going to spend so much time flying I want to know all about aeronautical health. I want to know everything beyond the usual exercise and eat healthy advise. I want to know about long time risks as well and about prevention, thanks

  1. Your perfectly safe untill the engines stall.

  2. hearing loss, depending on the acft you fly

  3. Working in the airline industry does not mean any increase in the amount of radiation you'll be exposed to as some have said.  This was only a problem for the Concorde which flew almost twice as high as a regular airliner.  Jet lag aside you'll have the benefit of advice from your co-workers.

    .

A lot of people see it as working for an airline as cabin crew to be the glamorous job it once was when stewardesses (as they were called) had to be young, skinny, and withing a certain height, and unmarried but times have changed.  Flight attendants (as they are called today) have become glorified waitresses and have to put up with a lot of c**p from people.  The hours are long and it's about as far removed from a 5 day a week 8 to 5 job as you can get.

    .

All that aside if you work for the right airline it would be a good way to see the world.

  4. Some long term effects include the increased likelihood of cancer due to higher doses of cosmic radiation. Also pilots, especially long haul guys, will suffer from fatigue when work gets busy.

  5. talk to your pilots before or after your next flight
