What are the horn-like things on a giraffe's head for?

  1. they use it for fighting. girraffes will swing and nock those into the head or neck of their adversary.(they don't usually fight itll the death) fights, over things like mates ect...


  2. Although giraffes are usually peacful animals males sometimes show competitive behavior toward each other. In these instance the giraffes swing their heads around hitting their opponent with the small horns atop their head. These fights are usually short last only 4-7minutes. they rarely end in death however.
