  4. Well your question is a little vague and it is a very broad topic.  If you are asking because you are considering working with children of this age, I have a few suggestions.  The best advice I can give anyone who is thinking about working with children is to get certified in infant/child CPR and first aid.  You can call you local red cross and ask about a class.  It is well worth it.  It will prepare you for some tough circumstances such as choking and basic first aid.  That being said your best defense if you are concerned about getting sick and/or getting kids sick is keeping you hands washed. sounds silly but it's your best defense.  It is so much easier for adult germs to infect a child than an adult.  You have to have a lot of patience too! Babies cry and sometimes there isn't anything you can do. Sometimes babies just cry, but that's why it is important that you remain calm. Preschools /nursery schools have regulations for wearing gloves when changing a baby and cleaning up bodily fluids...especially when you have cuts.  It's just good safety to always keep gloves on you so that you can handle any injury safely and promptly without having to search for gloves.  Lastly, remember to respect the parents.  One of the hardest things is to learn the boundaries of each family.  Some parents are threatened by closeness while others LOVE that you show affection to their child.  Always make sure to feel them out.  Basically, that's a little crash coarse.  Good luck with whatever  your looking to accomplish.   I love working with kids...it is VERY rewarding.
