  1. Hemicholinium blocks the uptake of choline (after acetylcholine is metabolized by acetylcholine esterase) into neurons. This prevents the formation of acetylcholine, reducing the amount available for release. The end result is an overall reduction of acetylcholine in the synapse or neuromuscular junction, so the effects should be anticholinergic. Although, I imagine the effect would be limited, because choline can be transported to the synapse from the cell bodies.

    From what I've read, hemicholinium is frequently used as a research tool, not as a medication.
